Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Huskies 69-30 on the road. Franklin Community has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Lauren Klem continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Urban, who scored 14 points.
Evansville North's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddy Knies, who scored 11 points, and Vanessa Nankwenya who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Franklin Community is on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season. As for Evansville North, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
Franklin Community will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Center Grove at 12:00 p.m. on February 17th. Center Grove will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Franklin Community surely won't give up without a fight. Evansville North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
