Newfane has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Attica Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Newfane knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully the Blue Devils like a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Newfane gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They breezed by Wilson at home to the tune of 76-39. Given Newfane's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Lakemen are ranked 723rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Landon Braman, who scored 32 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Capen Mac was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Attica didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Wildcats last Thursday, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Attica has scored all year.
Newfane's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Attica, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
