After both having extra time off, the Presentation Panthers and the Castilleja Gators will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Castilleja took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Presentation, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Presentation turned things around against Terra Nova last Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 15-0 shutout. The Panthers not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th (when they won 20-1).

Kyla Rae Shackelford was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Shackelford was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Maya Manriquez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee De Maio, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Presentation always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Nova only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Castilleja was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-3 to Palo Alto.
Taryn Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Presentation's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Castilleja, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Castilleja's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Presentation has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434.
