The Donahue Catholic Shamrocks and the Shorecrest Prep Chargers squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks had to settle for second. Donahue Catholic was beaten by Shorecrest Prep 50-10. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Donahue Catholic struggled afterwards.
Even if they lost, Donahue Catholic's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Athanasius Niewald and his two sacks.
Nickolas Bearden was his usual excellent self, rushing for 121 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 158 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Bearden hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for seven straight games. Ahman Crumity did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 99 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Donahue Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Shorecrest Prep, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Donahue Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shorecrest Prep will face off against Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 18th. Master's Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
