The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tucker Basnight, who rushed for 121 yards, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kenston Forest). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Rappahannock County 47-8. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Greenbrier Christian Academy better keep an eye on Devin Dunn. He was instrumental in Kenston Forest's win, rushing for 105 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, while also throwing for 42 yards and one TD. Dunn's passing game has become a key predictor of the Kavaliers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-6 otherwise.
Kenston Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Kenston Forest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ransom Clark and Tine Sledd. Sledd got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Kenston Forest's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Greenbrier Christian Academy against Kenston Forest when the teams last played back in August of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-18 win. In that contest, the Gators amassed a halftime lead of 35-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
