The Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles lost against the Fairmont Prep Huskies two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Capistrano Valley Christian lost to the Huskies on the road by a decisive 66-51 margin. While losing is never fun, Capistrano Valley Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Huskies are ranked 74th).
Despite the loss, Capistrano Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Michael Ahern, who scored 18 points. Ahern hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Dignadice, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Capistrano Valley Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Fairmont Prep, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capistrano Valley Christian is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for Fairmont Prep, they will square off against the Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in San Gabriel Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
