The Ledford Panthers will challenge the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ledford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.

Ledford fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Northern Guilford on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Nighthawks by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leah Leonard spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ledford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Tesh, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Nicola Simpson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, Ledford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Guilford struck out 11 times.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Forsyth Home Educators made sure to put some runs up on the board against Clover Garden School on Tuesday. Everything went Forsyth Home Educators' way against Clover Garden School as Forsyth Home Educators made off with an 18-10 victory.

Ledford moved to 4-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Forsyth Home Educators, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Ledford's way against Forsyth Home Educators when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Ledford made off with a 16-1 victory. Does Ledford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Forsyth Home Educators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
