The Leechburg Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Springdale 60-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Leechburg has suffered since December 2, 2023.
Leechburg's loss came despite strong showings from Jayden Floyd and Tim Skeel. Floyd scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Skeel scored five points along with five rebounds. Floyd has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.
Leechburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Springdale, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Leechburg will head out on the road to take on Jeannette at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jeannette knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Leechburg likes a good challenge. As for Springdale, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Clairton at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th.
