The Great Falls Red Devils will challenge the York Prep Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Great Falls knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully York Prep likes a good challenge.
Last Wednesday, Great Falls made easy work of Keenan and carried off a 13-1 win. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Kamden Wood was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Weston Stalls was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Great Falls hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, York Prep was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They came up short against Lancaster, falling 10-2.
Great Falls pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for York Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8-1 record this season.
York Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Great Falls hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. It's a different story for York Prep, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Great Falls' hitters?
Great Falls might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from York Prep when the teams last played back in February. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
