The Fort Myers Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 31 points or more this season. They blew past East Lee County, posting a 58-26 victory at home. Given Fort Myers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while East Lee County is ranked 561st), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Marquielle Tory, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Therry Theresias was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Fort Myers pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for East Lee County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Fort Myers will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Verot at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Verot has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 403 points over their last six games. East Lee County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Evangelical Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
