The Bowen Boilermakers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the EPIC Academy The Legends at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bowen has four straight victories, EPIC Academy has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Bowen didn't have too much trouble with Brooks at home as they won 61-47.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bowen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rae'Qwon Rogers, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wright, who scored 14 points.
EPIC Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They were outmatched by Harlan on the road and fell 85-13.
Bowen pushed their record up to 15-8 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for EPIC Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Bowen beat EPIC Academy 51-44 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was EPIC Academy's Alan Norfleet, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Bowen to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
