There's no place like home for the Patriot Pioneers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 73-38 victory over Gainesville. With that victory, Patriot brought their scoring average up to 59.5 points per game.
Patriot can attribute much of their success to Teyvien Barbour, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Dillard, who scored 16 points.
Patriot pushed their record up to 1-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Gainesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Patriot won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Stone Bridge at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Stone Bridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Gainesville, they will be playing at home against Battlefield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Battlefield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Gainesville is ranked 75th).
