The Neumann Celtics put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 72-58 victory over Lemon Bay. Given Neumann's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Lemon Bay is ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sophia McCartney was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 19 rebounds. The contest was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Scheffler, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds.
