The Greenwood Bulldogs are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Greenville Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Greenwood is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greenville in Mississippi (Greenwood is ranked 47th, while Greenville is ranked 133rd).
Last Tuesday, Greenwood didn't have too much trouble with Holmes County Central on the road as they won 51-33.
Meanwhile, Greenville was able to grind out a solid win over Humphreys County on Tuesday, taking the game 47-37.
Greenville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Thomas led the charge by scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tamarion Rhodes, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Greenwood's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Greenville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Everything went Greenwood's way against Greenville when the teams last played back in November as Greenwood made off with a 60-40 win. Does Greenwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greenville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
