Basketball Game Preview: WISH Academy Owls vs. Animo Venice Pirates

WISH Academy hasn't had much luck against Animo Venice recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The WISH Academy Owls will face off against the Animo Venice Pirates at 5:30 p.m. WISH Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.9 points per game this season.

WISH Academy can't be too worried about heading out to take on Animo Venice: they just beat Animo Watts at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. WISH Academy walked away with a 64-54 victory over Animo Watts on Thursday.

Noah Tureaud was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine boards. Those 29 points gave him a new career-high. Dawit Kebede was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice entered their tilt with Animo Pat Brown on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Gryphons 53-25. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

WISH Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Animo Venice, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

WISH Academy was taken down by Animo Venice 87-54 in their previous meeting on Tuesday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point WISH Academy was down 47-16.
