The Palisades Pumas's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Jackson Day Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on December 21st. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Thursday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Palisades, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 75-56 loss to South Mecklenburg.
Despite the defeat, Palisades saw an underclassman step up: Chris Jackson scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cazzie Williams, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Jackson Day had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They managed a 66-60 win over Valor Preparatory Academy.
Palisades' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Jackson Day, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7.
