Softball Recap: Peniel Baptist Academy Wins Going Away Against St. Joseph Academy

Peniel Baptist Academy barely beat St. Joseph Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Peniel Baptist Academy was the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over St. Joseph Academy on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Alexis Peacock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Traelyn Baker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Darby Speaks also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Peniel Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Peniel Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Peniel Baptist Academy will head out on the road to take on First Coast Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will host St. Johns Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
