Mount Notre Dame had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Ursula Academy 66-34 on the road. Given Mount Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while St. Ursula Academy is ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mount Notre Dame was led to victory by Grace Pitzer and Laila Harrison. Pitzer scored 15 points along with two steals, while Harrison scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Pitzer hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Bransford, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Mount Notre Dame pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for St. Ursula Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Mount Notre Dame will head out on the road to take on Mason at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Mason is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for St. Ursula Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
