The West Noble Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Westview Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece.
Last Tuesday, West Noble was the victim of a rough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Wawasee. While losing is never fun, West Noble can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Wawasee is ranked 100th).
West Noble's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alexia Mast, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals, and Kayle Jordan who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds. Mast is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played.
Meanwhile, Westview had to suffer through a rough 77-21 loss at the hands of Northridge.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bre Cory, who scored 7 points. She scored a full 33.3% of Westview's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hope Bortner was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
West Noble's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Westview, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-7.
West Noble was able to grind out a solid win over Westview in their previous matchup back in January, winning 40-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Noble since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
