The Vista Ridge Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Vista Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
Vista Ridge had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Rampart as Vista Ridge made off with a 57-36 win. Vista Ridge pushed the score to 45-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams cut but never quite recovered from.
Vista Ridge relied on the efforts of Brandon Avance, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Quentin Maldonado, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Maldonado continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Quentin Monck was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson lost to the Eagles at home by a decisive 54-38 margin on Monday. Fountain-Fort Carson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Vista Ridge's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Vista Ridge couldn't quite finish off the Trojans in their previous meeting back in January and fell 58-55. Can Vista Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
