Roosevelt has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Minneapolis Southwest Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, Roosevelt didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Edison, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory.
Roosevelt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calvin Peterson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Wells, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Minneapolis Southwest came up short against Minneapolis South on Monday and fell 65-55. Minneapolis Southwest has struggled against Minneapolis South recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Minneapolis Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Roosevelt lost to Minneapolis Southwest on the road by a decisive 83-68 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
