Rowan County fell to Mason County 16-51 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Everything went Rowan County's way against Mason County on Friday as they made off with a 47-13 win. Rowan County was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Rowan County's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 21 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Mason County couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21-0 heading into the break. The offense for Rowan County continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 26 points. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
Rowan County will look to defend their home turf next week against Fleming County at 7:30 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for Mason County, they will face off against Morgan County. Mason County continues their travels as they hit the road for the second straight game.
