Tolleson is a perfect 7-0 against West Point since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolverines will host the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tolleson comes in on three and West Point on four.
Tolleson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Valley Vista as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Wolverines have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Tolleson got a great performance from DIEGO SERNA as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. SERNA has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, AMARI LUCAS was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. SERGIO BLANCO was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Tolleson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Vista only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, West Point hadn't done well against Apollo recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dragons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Hawks.
Bryan Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Gortarez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Hunter Gallinger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
West Point pushed their record up to 11-11-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Tolleson, their win bumped their record up to 14-9-1.
Tolleson came out on top in a nail-biter against West Point in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
