Will Choi was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Preston Karelitz, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Agnes). They walked away with a 13-8 victory over St. Croix Lutheran on Monday.
James Steiner and Louis Berthiaume did most of the damage at the plate: Steiner went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Berthiaume got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Berthiaume a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Plamann, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
St. Agnes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win got St. Agnes back to even at 6-6. As for Nova Classical Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nova Classical Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Agnes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
