Even though Shipley scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, the Perkiomen School Panthers still came out on top. Perkiomen School narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Shipley 60-58. This was payback for Perkiomen School, who suffered a 60-50 loss the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Shipley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gyasi Miller. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. Miller scored a full 36.2% of Shipley's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Matt Lange was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Perkiomen School's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Shipley, the last time they won on the road was back last Saturday. Having now lost three straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perkiomen School will square off against Phelps at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Shipley, they will head out on the road to face off against Germantown Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
