Mid-State 38 - Hills recap Oct. 16, 2012
South Hunterdon's Robert Albanir recorded the longest rushing play in Mid-State 38 - Hills this season in his game against Brearley last week. Albanir scampered for 81 yards on the play and finished with 88 on the day as his team beat the Bears.
Anthony Zuhone and Max Miller provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Belvidere. The connection went for 70 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Bound Brook's dynamic duo of Jalen Wheeler and Jack Welti proved tough for New Providence to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wheeler threw for 350 yards and two touchdowns and Welti had 145 yards receiving. Isaiah Williams helped Bound Brook's passing attack out by catching six balls for 108 yards.
Devon Troutman was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 117 yards on 14 carries as South Hunterdon fell to the Pioneers.
Bound Brook's Wheeler and Williams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mid-State 38 - Hills in both passing and receiving yards. Wheeler has thrown for 1553 yards this season, while Williams, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 31 catches for 640 yards. The Eagles' Troutman leads the league in rushing yards with 563.
The Crusaders moved up to 211 from 248 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Bound Brook climbed the ranks as a result of losing to New Providence 44-27.
