The Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (the Prairie Heights Panthers were 25% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lakeland Christian Academy had to suffer through a rough 64-26 loss at the hands of Prairie Heights.
Katie Reimink was Lakeland Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Reimink also led the team in assists with four. She held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Prairie Heights' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Boots, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Boots scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Park, who scored 21 points.
Lakeland Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Prairie Heights, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Lakeland Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Trinity at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Prairie Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Prairie Heights in Indiana (Eastside is ranked 36th, while Prairie Heights is ranked 254th).
