The Welch Wildcats lost against the Wyandotte Bears last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Welch took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wyandotte. Welch has not had much luck with Wyandotte recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Welch saw an underclassman step up: Joseph Clinton scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clinton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Clinton, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Welch has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Wyandotte, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ketchum the next time they take the court. Wyandotte will head out to face Ketchum at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, while Welch will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
