Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Centerville Bulldogs walked away with it. They took down Oberlin 40-26 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for Centerville who now have three in a row.
Jamari Ayrow was his usual excellent self, rushing for 287 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Ayrow was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Centerville also got a significant boost from Bryson Thomas, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Centerville's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Oberlin, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.
Centerville will take on Mangham at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Mangham's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games. Oberlin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
