Even though the Viewmont Vikings scored an imposing 61 points on Thursday, the Fremont Silverwolves still came out on top. Fremont took their game against Viewmont 72-61. Given Fremont's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Viewmont is ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fremont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Hansen led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hansen has scored at least 25% of Fremont's points. Zach Masters was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Fremont's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Viewmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Fremont will face off against Box Elder at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Box Elder is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Viewmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Davis at 6:35 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
