The Sahuaro Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 27 points or more this season. They blew past Desert View 80-15 at home. Sahuaro's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cassandra Coolidge continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and three steals. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ny'Anza Brown was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Sahuaro pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Desert View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Sahuaro and Oak Park will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Oak Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 315th in California, while Sahuaro is ranked 26th in Arizona). Desert View will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
