Claxton hadn't done well against Montgomery County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went the Claxton Tigers' way against the Montgomery County Eagles as the Claxton Tigers made off with an 80-60 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted since December 10, 2024.

Claxton had a senior duo take command as Isaiah Philyaw posted nine points in addition to six assists and five steals and Dereon Brewton dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Philyaw has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Charles Ryce, who had 11 points and three steals.

Claxton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Claxton moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Montgomery County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
