Soccer Recap: Lawrence County Has No Trouble Against Mccomb

After failing to score in their last contest, Lawrence County made sure to put some goals up on the board against McComb on Tuesday. They blew past the McComb Tigers 7-0. Considering the Cougars have won four matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting McComb from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Jose Portillo led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Lawrence County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four contests. As for McComb, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will challenge Wesson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrence County is facing Wesson at the right time seeing as Wesson is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for McComb, they will face off against Murrah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
