The Herndon Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the South Lakes Seahawks at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Herndon comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Herndon was the victim of a rough 58-33 defeat at the hands of Justice.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but South Lakes had to settle for a 29-27 loss against Langley on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, South Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Langley is ranked sixth).
Herndon bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for South Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Herndon beat South Lakes 48-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Herndon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
