Yuma Catholic never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Highland Prep Honey Badgers 21-0. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Brady Friar looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jose Alatorre, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ivan Guzman, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Yuma Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland Prep only posted an OBP of .000.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Yuma Catholic, bringing their record up to 15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Highland Prep, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Yuma Catholic is set to take on their familiar foe ALA - West Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Shamrocks 1.4, the Guardians 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Highland Prep will challenge rival Kingman at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
