The Southeast Halifax Trojans's eight-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 51-26 margin over Rocky Mount Prep. The win was just what Southeast Halifax needed coming off of a 59-37 loss in their prior game.
Southeast Halifax got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kemorriya Evans out in front who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Evans has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Myrecle Harrison was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Southeast Halifax's win bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Southeast Halifax will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Halifax presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southeast Halifax in North Carolina (Northwest Halifax is ranked 266th, while Southeast Halifax is ranked 593rd). As for Rocky Mount Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Tarboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
