The Lincoln Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Preston as Lincoln made off with a 69-45 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Lincoln has managed all season.
Despite the loss, Preston saw an underclassman step up: Easton Hayes scored ten points. Hayes set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Aidan Schmidl was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Preston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln's road trip will continue as they head out to face Elkins at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
