DSST: Montview dropped their record down to 5-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 19-9 to the Manual Thunderbolts. For Manual's part, Alan Whatley made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Whatley a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Manual got a big performance out of Juan Flores-Delgado, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Flores-Delgado a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Edgar Salas, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Coming up, DSST: Montview will head out to square off against Lincoln at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
