The Monmouth United Red Storm will head out on the road to challenge the Kewanee Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Monmouth United is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
Six must be Monmouth United's lucky number: they beat Knoxville with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Red Storm were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Blue Bullets. The result was nothing new for the Red Storm, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Knoxville's batters probably weren't too happy with Tanner Rogers, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (he gave up four walks). Rogers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elliott Copeland, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Chance Stewart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Kewanee hadn't done well against Sherrard recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Boilermakers walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Tigers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Boilermakers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Colson Welgat was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Hicks, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Monmouth United pushed their record up to 25-4 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kewanee, their record now sits at 11-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Monmouth United has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kewanee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Monmouth United skirted past Kewanee 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Red Storm repeat their success, or do the Boilermakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
