Tri-Central is 0-7-1 against Clinton Prairie since May of 2015 but things could change  on Thursday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to  take on the Gophers  at 5:00  p.m. Clinton Prairie took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tri-Central, who comes in off a win.
Tri-Central took a 11-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Eastern, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Comets on Thursday, sneaking past  6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Trojans have posted  since April 17th.
 Layla Baldwin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   nine  hits (and only one walk). Baldwin was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.

 In other batting news,  Logan Creason was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs and one  double. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.
Rossville hit Clinton Prairie with a six-run second inning  on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Gophers lost  11-1 to the Hornets. The Gophers haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
 Clinton Prairie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zelda Wampler, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
 Tri-Central's win  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 5-9. As for Clinton Prairie, their  loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 14-6.
 Tri-Central couldn't quite finish off Clinton Prairie in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024 and fell  5-3. Can the Trojans avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
