Basketball Game Preview: Cheylin Cougars vs. Wauneta-Palisade Broncos

The Cheylin Cougars will square off against the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cheylin is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Logan/Palco back in December of 2024 (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cheylin was outmatched by Logan/Palco and fell 66-29. The Cougars have struggled against Logan/Palco recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Landon Schoenberger, who posted nine points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Andrew Wright was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Wauneta-Palisade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-29 loss at the hands of Bertrand. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.

Wauneta-Palisade's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Cheylin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Cheylin against Wauneta-Palisade in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-35 victory. Does Cheylin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wauneta-Palisade turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
