The Bishop Manogue Miners gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-47 win over Reed. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bishop Manogue also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Bishop Manogue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Williams led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Jamahl Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 3 blocks.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Williams, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jace Rickman-buono, who scored 4 points.
Bishop Manogue's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Reed, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Bishop Manogue will be playing at home against Clark at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reed, they will face off against Fernley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
