The Paulding Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Ottoville Big Green at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Paulding's strategy against the Pirates on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Paulding blew the Pirates out of the water with a 54-14 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-8.
Paulding got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tori Schlatter out in front who scored five points along with six rebounds and six steals. Schlatter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Schlatter, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Ottoville stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. Everything went their way against Leipsic as Ottoville made off with a 55-31 victory. Winning may never get old, but Ottoville sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Paulding's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ottoville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Paulding might still be hurting after the 59-34 defeat they got from the Big Green in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Paulding avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
