Tucson High Magnet School has gone a perfect 10-0 against Rincon/University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Tucson High Magnet School got a good showing from Luis Camacho, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Camacho has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Juan Hernandez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Tenochtli Nepan Ollin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Rincon/University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Marana. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rangers have suffered since April 22, 2024.
Rincon/University saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victor Moreno, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Tucson High Magnet School now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Rincon/University, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
Rincon/University's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Tucson High Magnet School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Rincon/University, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Tucson High Magnet School keep running through batters, or will the Rangers buck the trend?
