Basketball Recap: Saranac Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Saranac had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Carson City-Crystal Eagles on Monday as the Saranac Redhawks made off with a 65-41 win. The Redhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Despite the defeat, Carson City-Crystal had strong showings from Collin Andrews, who posted nine points, and Cole Smith, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points along with five boards and three steals. What's more, Andrews posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordan Winslow, who earned five points.

Saranac's record is now 8-15. As for Carson City-Crystal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Saranac wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 75-23 loss against Pewamo-Westphalia on the 26th. Carson City-Crystal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
