Glendale is on a six-game streak of home losses, Agua Fria a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Glendale Cardinals will welcome the Agua Fria Owls at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Tuesday, Glendale lost to Sierra Linda at home by a 59-45 margin. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 15-11 in the first quarter.

Loss or not, Glendale got some senior leadership from Victor Rodriguez and Anthony Duran. Rodriguez went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and six steals, while Duran posted nine points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the most points Rodriguez has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Simon Sinohui, who put up eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals.
Even though they lost, Glendale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Agua Fria had to suffer through a 66-39 loss at the hands of Westview. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Knights are ranked 115th).
Glendale will need focus on slowing down Jason Mitchell, one of several Agua Fria players who made an impact when they last played. He scored four points.
Glendale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Agua Fria, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Glendale has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Agua Fria struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.8 boards.
