Aj Feleppa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Meadville is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-8 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Henry Desantis-Biggs, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ian Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only DuBois walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Dragons on Thursday.
Noah Farrell made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Farrell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Samson Deeb, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
DuBois' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-7. As for Meadville, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Meadville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like DuBois struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
