Whittier Christian extended the longest winning streak in Olympic this week by beating Valley Christian, 42-14. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Village Christian moved up to 587 from 642 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Crusaders were able to make move up by besting Maranatha 36-0.
Whittier Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ryan Esslinger threw for 207 and three touchdowns and Cody Bronkar had 126 yards receiving. On the ground David Fischer chipped in 117 yards. Sergio Ramirez helped Whittier Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.
Whittier Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Heralds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Esslinger has thrown for 2213 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while Bronkar has 66 catches for 800 yards. JP Marquez leads the league in rushing with 857 yards.
Village Christian took down the Minutemen 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
