Basketball Recap: Bassett Piles Up the Points Against Pomona

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bassett). They breezed by the Pomona Red Devils to the tune of 87-26 on Tuesday. While the Olympians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Pomona's loss came despite strong showings from Mekai Singleton and Darren Arrington. Singleton posted ten points and eight rebounds, while Arrington had nine points.

Bassett pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Pomona, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Bassett will head out to square off against Muir at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bassett is facing Muir at the right time seeing as Muir is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Pomona, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Garey at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
