Basketball Recap: Baraga's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Baraga entered their tilt with Lake Linden-Hubbell on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes 53-29. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Vikings had established a 23 point advantage.

Baraga's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Connor, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Connor's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jayme Denomie was another key player, going 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Baraga is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Lake Linden-Hubbell, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baraga will head out to face off against L'Anse at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. L'Anse is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. As for Lake Linden-Hubbell, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
